Ms. Pitts is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She earned her BA in Africana Studies with a minor in business and psychology, from the University at Albany (SUNY) and her MSW from The School of Social Welfare at the University at Albany (SUNY) in Albany, New York. She has over 10 years of experience in the community mental health setting, working with children, adolescents, adults and families in Washington, DC. Ms. Pitts has experience in conducting individual, group and family therapy, and has utilized Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), the Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model (TREM) and Strengthening Family Coping Resources (SFCR) with the clients that she has served. Her background includes working with individuals who have been involved with the criminal justice system, as it relates to their mental health.
Ms. Pitts utilizes a supportive, strength’s based and collaborative approach. She works with her clients to identify strengths and then teach skills and interventions that can help them to be better able to manage obstacles that interfere with their quality of life and wellbeing.
Ms. Pitts resides in Howard County with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys crafting, traveling, and sports.
